Thomas Party of Ghana has worked his way through a long journey into the limelight at Atletico Madrid. He joined the Madrid outfit in 2011 from Odemetah FC’s youth system in Ghana.
The 25-year midfielder came on as a substitute in Atletico’s 4-2 victory over city rivals Real Madrid in the Super Cup match and made an instant impact, creating the assist for Atletico’s fourth goal, a volley by midfielder Koke.
Atletico Madrid’s manager, Diego Simeone was asked during the post-match press conference what he saw to have believed in this young player and how essential he Thomas is to the Atletico side.
