A Nigerian footballer by the name Akinyemi Adeleke has gone awol in Latvia. According to an official statement posted by his Latvian Club Ventspils FC on twitter.
The 19year old Nigeria striker has not been seen since Monday August 6th after he failed to show up at the scheduled time at the team’s bus before tbey departed for a Latvian cup game. And every attempt to reach him on telephone has proved abortive.
The club has reported the matter to the Latvian police and have put out a phone number through which they can be reached in case anyone finds the Nigerian anywhere in the country. He has also left his residence and can not be traced as at the time of this report.
We have encountered a unique, extraordinary and inexplicable situation which is hard to believe in a civilized society and in football. The club’s statement reads.
