Bayern Munich has given youngster Maxime Awoudja his first professional contract.
The centre-back who has been with the Bavarian since the age of nine signed a three-year deal on Thursday.
Awoudja parents hail from Togo in West Africa. He played 29 games for the Bayern youth team in the Regionaliga last season.
Bayern Munich sports director Hasan Salihamidzic said: “Awoudja is a fast and strong centre-back.”
“I’m just happy to have signed my first professional contract here at Bayern. Now I want to take the next step in my career. I know that I have to work at least as hard as before, “says Awoudja, who was also featured four times last year for the German national junior teams – including twice in the U19 European Championship.
