Leonardo Bonucci has made the decision to file a lawsuit against Juventus, his former team.

He alleges that he suffered harm to his professional image due to the claimed lack of proper training and preparation opportunities.

In addition to not practising with the first squad and being cut by Juve, defender Bonucci also missed the Serie A team’s preseason trip to the United States last month.

Although the Italian Footballers’ Association claimed that Juventus were treating elderly misfit Leonardo Bonucci improperly and that his “dignity is being stomped on,” Juventus insisted that nothing was wrong.

Bonucci helped Italy win the UEFA 2020 Euros, adding to the eight Serie A titles and four Coppa Italias the he lifted across a 502-game spell with Juventus. The 2016 Italian Player of the Year has also played for both Milan clubs, winning his first Serie A crown in 2005/06 with Inter.

The 36-year-old recently signed a one-year deal with Bundeliga side Union Berlin through to the end of the 2023/24 season, when he will retire from playing.
