Sergio Aguero has picked his hat-trick against German champions, Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions league as his favourite of his Manchester city hat-ricks. The Argentine forward who scored his 12th hat-tricks for Manchester City in the club’s latest victory against Leicester city in a premier league fixture, said while speaking to journalist after the win:
“Maybe the one against Bayern Munich in the Champions league is my favourite because we had to win to remain in the Champions League, a draw or a defeat would have seen us exit the tournament, that makes the one against Bayern my favourite”
Aguero produced an extraordinary five-minute spell when Manchester City shocked maybe even themselves, it had been another night to expose their shortcomings in Europe. They had been out-passed, out-thought and frequently humbled by a Bayern side that were down to 10 men after 20 minutes and Manuel Pellegrini would have faced some difficult questions but for what happened next. Few minutes when Bayern Munich’s resolve disintegrated and Sergio Agüero turned this game upside down. and gave City massive hopes of remaining in the UEFA Champions league in 2014. That hat-trick had left City knowing that a scoring draw, when they face Roma in Stadio Olimpico, will be enough to qualify through the back door, as long as CSKA Moscow are incapable of beating Bayern in the Allianz Arena.
Aguero also picked his last of the 4 goals against Leicester City as his favourite of the four. “It is my favourite because, in a long time, I have not scored from outside of the box,” He said.
