The Spanish playmaker is delighted to see the Manchester United trio return in time for the hectic Christmas schedule
Juan Mata claims Manchester United’s injured trio of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo have returned at the perfect time.
Pogba is back after over two months out with a hamstring problem, while Ibrahimovic and Rojo have recovered from the serious knee injuries they suffered last season.
The trio returned for Saturday’s win over Newcastle and Mata claims United will need them for their hectic schedule between now and January 1.
“Last Saturday was a happy start of a marathon of fixtures that will take us straight to Christmas, a series of games that will demand the maximum effort from us,” said the Spanish playmaker.
“With that in mind, being able to recover players such as Paul, Ibra and Marcos is great news for the team.
“We will need the full squad in order to show the best performance in every competition, same as we’ve been doing so far.
“It was great to see them back on the pitch, especially Marcos and Ibra after such a long time away.
“They have worked really hard to be back and they deserve to have a great season. I’m sure both of them will help us a lot in the coming months.”
United’s Champions League game away to Basel tomorrow is the first of three matches in seven days with Brighton up at Old Trafford on Saturday before a trip to Watford on Tuesday.
“We have three games in just seven days against sides that won’t give us a break,” wrote Mata in his weekly blog on his website juanmata8.com .
