Carlo Ancelotti may not have had the perfect start to the season at Bayern Munich, but he has shown his sense of humour remains perfect.

And he has also claimed to have a soft spot for the Nigerian football fans, many of whom will be tuned in to see him lead Bayern against PSG in the Champions League tonight.

When asked if he feared losing his job should they fail to beat PSG, the former Chelsea coach found the funny side to it.

“Where are you from,” he asked this reporter, who posed the question to him.

When informed of the reporter’s nationality, he said: “I’m happy that people from Nigeria take care of my life,” he said jokingly as the room erupted into laughter.

“It’s true we haven’t started so well,” he said of Bayern’s season. “But the game against PSG doesn’t decide (my future).”

“It’s an important game against PSG, a prestigious one, of course, but it’s only the start of the season.

“But we want to give our best and we will try to win,” he added.
