Manchester United legend and pundit Rio Ferdinand has heaped praises on France and Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kanté and says he’s the ongoing Euro2020 most valuable player.
Kanté is starring in midfield for France at the European Championship on the back of a successful Champions League winning season with Chelsea where he was instrumental in the triumph.
“I’d go as far as to say he’s the most valuable player in this tournament, if not in Europe completely,” Ferdinand told the BBC.
“I think a big part of his game is that he surprises you. I know we all know him, but there’s elements of his game where he comes out of nowhere because he’s so quick, he anticipates things so well.”
“He’s the MVP.” Ferdinand added.
Kanté is generating waves in the media with discussions of a possible Ballon d’Or win if Les Bleus triumph in the championship.
He won four straight player of the match in his last four games of the Champions League win including the two legs against Real Madrid and the final against Manchester City.
The little Frenchman had a difficult ending to the year 2020 like every other Chelsea player but regained the form that made him his name under Thomas Tuchel.
