Bundesliga club, VfL Wolfsburg, have swapped the Volkswagen logo in front of their jersey for the Volkswagen brand of all-electric compact SUV, ID.4, which is currently being launched worldwide.
This was done to the jerseys of the first team of the Wolves and She-Wolves. The shirts were first worn in the 3-2 home loss to league leaders Bayern Munich on Saturday, April 17, 2020.
The ID.4 will become a permanent part of VfL Wolfsburg’s fleet of vehicles, and a corresponding charging infrastructure has already been created at the training ground at the VfL-Center.
“Ecological sustainability is an important strategic approach for us…” VfL managing director Michael Meeske said. “E-mobility plays a central role in this. For this reason, we are currently converting our fleet to electric cars,”
“In this regard, we are of course particularly grateful to have Volkswagen, one of the most innovative companies in this field, on our side, supporting us one hundred per cent along this path.”
Wolfsburg are currently third on the Bundesliga table with 54points and five games to go in the season, as they push to secure Champions League football next season.
