Lazio Primavera midfielder Daniel Guerini passed away in a car accident at about 8pm yesterday in Rome after his car collided with another car.
Lazio confirmed the news in a short but very emotional message; “Still incredulous and shocked by pain, the President, the men and women of the Lazio Sports Club gather around the family of the young Daniel Guerini.”
According to Italian newspaper Gazetta, Guerini’s vehicle collided head-on with a Mercedes A-Class, with two passengers in his car rushed to hospital. The driver of the A-Class, a 68-year-old man, was also transported to hospital but with less serious injuries.
Guerini started his career in Lazio’s youth system before joining Torino in 2016 and returned to Lazio in January on a three years contract.
