Liverpool’s Senegalese forward Sadio Mane has described Liverpool teammate Roberto Firmino as a player who makes things easier for him and Mohamed Salah and says he deserves more credit than he gets.
Mane, Salah and Firmino are Liverpool’s front trio who have led the club to domestic, continental and international success but the African duo gets more credit than the Brazilian.
“He deserves more credit than me and Mo, for sure,” Mane told ESPN Brazil. “But it is part of football, (people) always seeing the goals scored. But without Bobby, I don’t see me and Mo score as many goals as we have, to be honest. He makes everything easier for us.
“Brazil are just lucky to have Firmino. I have always said to Bobby: ‘You will have to change your nationality and come to Senegal’. For me, that would be a dream. I just love him. I think he is my favourite team-mate.”
Liverpool are way behind in the defence of their Premier League title. They are currently sixth with 19 points behind leaders Manchester City and have lost four home games in a row.
