Bayern Munich midfielder has named RB Leipzig as the biggest threat and rival to Bayern Munich’s title defense this season.

Bayern Munich have won a record eight consecutive Bundesliga titles and are currently top of the table, seven points ahead of RB Leipzig in second place.

They have teams like Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund and others in the chasing pack but Kimmich believes Leipzig are the real challenger.

“At the moment, it’s Leipzig. They’re second in the table and I think they play really good football,” Kimmich told bundesliga.com

“They concede less goals and always score more goals than their opponents, so they win their games – not always clearly but like us winning 1-0, ok not like us, we are not winning 1-0, we’re winning 3-2 or something like this because we concede more goals than Leipzig.

“At the moment they’re really consistent and win their games, so they are our biggest rivals at the moment.”

RB Leipzig lost star striker Timo Werner who scored 28 Bundesliga goals last season to Chelsea but have not looked back, securing qualification to the knockout stage of the Champions League in a group that has PSG and Manchester United.

They are managed by young tactician Julian Nagelsmann, and according to reports he is tipped to leave at the end of the season to Real Madrid.
