Victor Osimhen is Africa’s fourth most valuable player

Nigeria and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has been ranked the fourth most valuable African player by the CIES Football Observatory in its bi-annual list of the top five league players with the biggest transfer values.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, Osimhen is valued at €62.2m despite making an €81.3m move from Lille to Napoli in the summer.

He is ranked behind Liverpool’s duo of Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Senegalese Sadio Mane, who are first and second and Moroccan Achraf Hakimi in third.

Arsenal and Ivorian winger Nicolas Pepe is ranked fifth in Africa. The former Lille star moved to Arsenal for £72m in 2018.

Lionel Messi is valued at €54m and Cristiano Ronaldo is valued at €47m. Manchester United’s forward Marcus Rashford is the most valuable player in the world with a value of €165.6m.
