OGC Nice midfielder Alexis Beka Beka threatens suicide by jumping off bridge
Ligue 1 side Nice’s midfielder, Alexis Beka Beka, reportedly threatened to jump from the Magnan viaduct in Nice.
The incident is said to be related to a romantic breakup.
Firefighters, police officers, and a psychologist were sent by the French club are to help Beka Beka.
The player reportedly stood on the 100m high Magnan viaduct.
Nice are currently second on the Ligue 1 standings and have a home fixture at the Allianz Riviera against leaders Brest on Sunday.
Brest manager Eric Roy said: ‘I would like to give, as well as the entire club, my support to Nice with regard to the current events.
‘I am hoping that it ends as well as possible. My heart goes out to them.’
Beka joined Nice in 2022 from Lokomotiv Moscow for 12 million euros but has not played this season.
